Announcing #APStogether
#APStogether • May 21, 2020
What a spring we have experienced together. And how grateful we are to all of you who have been part of Tolstoy Together. You've shared with us your time, your insights and discoveries, your admiration of—and your frustrations with—Tolstoy, pictures of your reading spots and of your reading pets, and most important of all that together we have created some memories for the future.
As we make our way through this recovery, we hope to continue to read together. We are thrilled to announce a new set of writer-hosts for a second series of virtual book clubs, #APStogether, free and open to all: Garth Greenwell, Elizabeth McCracken, Claire Messud, Ayana Mathis, Carl Phillips, Ilya Kaminsky, Ed Park, Elliott Holt, Sarah Shun-lien Bynum, Aimee Bender, and others.
For an initial change of scenery, after our long trek through Tolstoy-land, the next book clubs will be shorter jaunts. Short novels, and even some poetry. We will still read at the same pace of about 15 pages each day, and the same consistent rhythm; and will start each day with posts from our book-club host. But your participation has been the essence of Tolstoy Together, and we hope you will join us in this next series of book clubs, for one or all of them. A detailed reading schedule will be posted shortly.
We look forward to continuing our journey together in literature.
