Brian T. Edwards is an associate professor of English, comparative literature, and American studies at Northwestern University, where he also co-chairs the Middle East and North African Studies working group. He is the author of Morocco Bound: Disorienting America’s Maghreb, from Casablanca to the Marrakech Express (Duke University) and the forthcoming Globalizing American Studies (University of Chicago). He is completing a book entitled “After the American Century: American Culture in Middle Eastern Circulation,” based on research in Morocco, Egypt, Lebanon, and Iran, for which he was named a 2005 Carnegie Scholar.
A Public Space is an independent, non-profit publisher of the award-winning literary and arts magazine; and A Public Space Books. Since 2006, under the direction of founding editor Brigid Hughes the mission of A Public Space has been to seek out and support overlooked and unclassifiable work.
