​Idra Novey is the author of The Next Country, which received the Kinereth Gensler Award from Alice James Books, and the translator of two forthcoming books, Elegance of the Sleeper by Vizconde de Lascano Tegui (Dalkey Archive) and Birds for a Demolition by Manoel de Barros (Carnegie Mellon). She has received awards from the National Endowment for the Arts, the Poetry Society of America, and the PEN Translation Fund.
