Joy Williams is the author of the novel State of Grace, the story collection Honored Guest, and the essay collection Ill Nature: Rants and Reflections on Humanity and
Other Animals (all Vintage). She has received the Harold and MildredStrauss Living Award from the American Academy of Arts and Letters and the Rea Award for the Short Story.
A Public Space is an independent, non-profit publisher of the award-winning literary and arts magazine; and A Public Space Books. Since 2006, under the direction of founding editor Brigid Hughes the mission of A Public Space has been to seek out and support overlooked and unclassifiable work.
