Author

Ibrahim El Batout has directed documentaries for German, Japanese, and French television, receiving awards internationally. In 2005, he made his first fictional feature film, Ithaki. His second feature, Ain Shams (Eye of the sun), won the Golden Bull, the top prize in the 54th Taormina Film Festival, and honors at the Carthage Film Festival in Tunisia and at the Arab Film Festival in Rotterdam. ​
