Author
Yang Jiang is a Chinese playwright, author, and translator. Baptism, her first novel, is based on her and her husband’s experience in 1951 China—it’s said that every single character is modeled on a well-known scholar, researcher, writer, or official from that time. Her latest book is Reaching the brink of life, published in 2007 when she was ninety-six.
