​Denis Donoghue holds the Henry James Chair of English and American Letters at New York University. His new book is Irish Essays (Cambridge University Press, 2011). “Eliot’s Shakespeare” was originally given as the School of Advanced Study, University of London’s Hilda Hulme Memorial Lecture.
